How it works...

Let's take a look at what we did throughout the preceding recipe.

In steps 1 to 4, we looked at how calls can be tracked to the spied function using the .calls.any() tracking property of Jasmine spies. In step 3, we implemented test code for scenario 1 and scenario 2 to track the calls corresponding to the spied function (that is, getAge).

In steps 5 to 6, we implemented scenario 3 using the .calls.count() property. Here, the ValidateAge() function is called twice. Intrinsically, this function calls the getAge function. Therefore, the .calls.count() property returns the value 2.

In steps 7 to 8, we implemented scenario 4. Here, the .calls.argsFor(index) property returns the argument(s) of the function/method corresponding to each call.

In steps 9 to 10, we implemented scenario 5 using the .calls.allArgs() property.

In steps 11 to 12, we implemented scenario 6 and scenario 7 using the .calls.mostRecent() and .calls.first() property.

In step 13, we implemented scenario 8 using the .calls.reset() property. Once the .calls.reset() property is applied, it clears all tracking for a spy.
